MY EXPERIENCE
A little bit of my background…
Over the last twenty years I've worked across arts, culture, creative industries, community development and regeneration. I've helped establish creative workspaces, cultural programmes, community enterprises and organisations, working with everyone from artists and entrepreneurs to landlords, local authorities and funders.
My projects have ranged from Homebaked, which grew from a Liverpool Biennial artwork into an internationally recognised community enterprise, to Make CIC, Baltic Creative and Invisible Wind Factory Studios. The common thread isn't buildings, culture or business; it's people. I'm interested in what happens when the right mix of space, opportunity and imagination comes together.
I'm also a PhD dropout. My unfinished research explored Liverpool's history of regeneration, from Victorian philanthropy to Capital of Culture. It left me with a lasting fascination for how places change, who gets to shape them, and how to make positive change stick.
My career started in hospitality and events, which taught me something that still guides my work today: the magic is never accidental. A huge amount of unseen work behind the scenes usually supports the places that feel effortless, welcoming and alive. I've spent much of my career building those foundations; developing partnerships, projects, organisations and operating models that allow creative communities and businesses to flourish.
